Position Overview

Concentric Corporation is partnering with an established commercial construction organization to identify an experienced Preconstruction Manager to oversee estimating, project planning, and preconstruction activities across multiple commercial construction projects.

This position requires a strong background in both hands-on estimating and preconstruction management within commercial general contracting. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and owners to ensure projects are accurately estimated, thoroughly planned, and positioned for success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction and estimating efforts across multiple commercial construction projects

• Prepare, review, and validate detailed cost estimates, budgets, and pricing proposals

• Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope and costs

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, and internal teams throughout the preconstruction process

• Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities

• Develop value engineering recommendations and alternative construction solutions

• Coordinate subcontractor bidding, evaluate proposals, and prepare bid comparisons

• Support project scheduling, constructability reviews, and overall project planning

• Present estimates, budgets, and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders

• Collaborate with project managers to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to construction

• Mentor and support estimating and preconstruction team members

• Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, processes, and overall efficiency
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction experience with demonstrated expertise in both preconstruction management and hands-on estimating

• Commercial general contracting experience required

• Proven ability to manage multiple preconstruction and estimating projects simultaneously

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, budgeting, and project delivery

• Experience preparing detailed estimates, analyzing subcontractor bids, and identifying project risks

• Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office

• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, and construction teams
  
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field

• Previous experience as a Preconstruction Manager, Senior Estimator, or similar construction leadership role

• Experience with complex commercial construction projects

• Experience mentoring junior estimators or preconstruction professionals

• Experience with value engineering, client presentations, and process improvements
