Business Development Representative
Position Overview:
A growing organization within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) industry is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive market expansion and build strategic relationships throughout the Tampa area.
This role is focused on developing new business opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and positioning the organization as a trusted resource within the local market. The Business Development Manager will work closely with leadership to identify target opportunities, evaluate potential projects, and build a strong, sustainable pipeline.
This is a highly visible role ideal for a polished, relationship-driven professional who thrives on networking, market engagement, and long-term growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, developers, contractors, and industry partners
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Tampa market and surrounding areas
• Monitor RFQs, RFPs, and procurement platforms to identify upcoming opportunities
• Evaluate project opportunities and collaborate with leadership on go/no-go decisions
• Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to grow market presence
• Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
• Track business development activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress within CRM systems
• Conduct regular pipeline reviews with leadership and provide strategic updates
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities
• Research market trends, competitive landscape, and economic factors impacting the A/E/C industry
Work Environment:
• Onsite role based in Tampa, FL
• Active presence in the local market through meetings, events, and client engagement
• Local and regional travel required
• Highly collaborative role working closely with leadership and operational teams
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
• Seven or more years of experience in business development, client relations, or strategic growth within the A/E/C industry
• Strong existing relationships within the architecture, development, or construction community preferred
• Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
• Established presence in the Tampa market
• Existing network of industry contacts or potential book of business
• Experience identifying and pursuing large-scale project opportunities
• Strong understanding of A/E/C project cycles and procurement processes
