Project Manager
A growing operations and project services organization is seeking multiple hands-on Project Managers to lead small to mid-sized technical and facility-related projects across multiple customer sites. These professionals will manage several projects at once while serving as the primary client point of contact and actively supporting execution in the field.
This is not a desk-only role. It is ideal for someone with strong trade knowledge who enjoys being close to the work, solving problems in real time, and building trusted customer relationships. Projects are typically fast-moving, practical in scope, and require a balance of leadership, coordination, and technical involvement.
Work hours average 50 to 60 hours per week, with occasional weekend work and approximately 40% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage multiple active projects at the same time, typically supporting 3 to 5 customer accounts depending on project size and complexity
• Serve as the primary client point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
• Build strong customer relationships through responsiveness, technical credibility, and follow-through
• Lead project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution from kickoff through completion
• Participate directly in project execution, not just delegation, including field coordination and technical problem solving
• Oversee day-to-day production activities and vendor or subcontractor coordination
• Monitor scope, timelines, and budgets across multiple concurrent jobs
• Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Coordinate materials, labor, and resources to keep projects on track
• Provide regular status updates to customers and internal leadership
• Support job closeout, documentation, and client satisfaction follow-up
Project Profile:
• Typical project values range from approximately $2M to $10M
• Project durations range from several days to several weeks
• Work involves multi-trade technical environments and facility systems
Technical Proficiency:
• Strong working knowledge across multiple skilled trades, ideally including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry
• Hands-on ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain facility systems and equipment
• Comfortable working in active technical and construction environments
• Familiar with applicable industry codes, standards, and safety requirements
• Able to translate technical issues into clear plans and next steps
Qualifications:
• 4 or more years of project management or field leadership experience in a technical or construction-related environment
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects
• Strong client-facing communication and coordination skills
• Proven ability to balance field execution with project controls
• Comfortable working extended hours when project demands require it
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
Preferred Certifications:
• Project Management Professional certification
• Certified Construction Manager credential
• OSHA safety certifications
Who You Are:
You are technically grounded and field credible, but polished enough to lead customer conversations with confidence. You are organized, responsive, and solutions-focused. You do not just manage projects from a distance. You step in, help solve problems, and keep work moving. You communicate clearly, earn trust quickly, and take ownership of results. You are comfortable in a fast-paced, blue-collar environment and lead with accountability and respect.
